Banking, finance and capital markets are one of our main areas of practice. Our clients include leading Czech, Slovak and foreign banks, insurance companies, as well as other financial institutions such as corporations, major institutional, and private investors. Most of our lawyers joined the firm with experience from renowned international law firms or from leading positions in regulatory offices, such as the Czech National Bank.

BANKING & FINANCE

INSURANCE

  • drafting contractual documentation, including the drafting of and revisions to general insurance terms and conditions and supplemental insurance terms and conditions
  • reviewing questionable legal issues related to the liquidation of insured losses
  • representing clients in judicial and out-of-court disputes involving payments under insurance policies
  • drafting contractual documentation between insurers and insurance brokers
  • establishment of branches of foreign insurers and insurance brokers

CAPITAL MARKETS

We advise local and international banks, securities firms, collective investment vehicles and other financial institutions, and also their corporate as well as private clients. Our capital markets expertise covers in particular the following:

  • EU-passporting or licensing, operations, marketing and distribution of banks, securities firms, and collective investment funds
  • public offerings and private placements of debt and equity securities
  • listing of securities on public markets
  • marketing and distribution structures for the provision of investment and other financial services
