Petr Opluštil specialises in real estate and construction law, environmental law and regulatory matters, in particular public procurement and state aid regulation.
He has experience with legal matters arising during the re-development of brownfield sites, with a particular emphasis on environmental matters, including environmental licensing, transfer of liabilities for environmental damage and related state aid issues. Petr also regularly advises clients on construction law matters, including the preparation of contractual documentation under international standards, and on related public procurement aspects.
Petr won the prestigious “Talent of the Year” award in the Czech Republic’s legal competition “Lawyer of the Year”, organised jointly by the Czech Bar Association and the internet-based Czech company EPRAVO.CZ, for his paper analysing the “polluter pays” principle in relation to the rehabilitation of brownfield sites.
Before joining our law firm, Petr worked as a lawyer at the Office of the Government in the department of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs.
The prestigious publication PLC Cross-border “Environment Handbook 2010” named Petr Opluštil as a recommended expert in the Czech Republic for environmental law.
