Roman Dubeň specialises in technology and IT law, general contract law, and gaming law.

During his practice he has been involved in providing legal services related mainly to the delivery, implementation and servicing of information systems for both the public and private sectors. Roman also specialises in related regulatory issues, particularly in the areas of cybersecurity and cloud computing, and other legal aspects such as the use of open source or standard software.

In the area of general contract law, he focuses on drafting and negotiating comprehensive contracts and analysing key contractual rights and obligations.

In the area of gaming law, Roman provides comprehensive legal support for domestic and foreign gambling operators and represents them in administrative and judicial proceedings.

Prior to joining our firm in 2018 as a fresh junior associate, he worked as a student at law firms providing general legal services.

  • advising an international company engaged in the production, distribution and sale of fuels and petrochemical products in the implementation and servicing of various IT products
  • comprehensive advising a leading international online service provider
  • advising a foreign gambling operator on its entry into the Czech market, including representing it in obtaining a basic gambling licence
  • representing foreign clients before the Ministry of Finance in proceedings concerning unauthorised online gambling operations
  • representing gambling operators before the Ministry of Finance and the Customs Administration in proceedings concerning violations of the Gambling Act, or the conditions for gambling operations set out in the basic licence, and in subsequent court proceedings
