Tomáš Kalenský specialises in construction, development, public procurement, and commercial contracts.
In the area of construction and development he focuses on the contractual aspects of the implementation of all types of construction projects, as well as the public-law aspects related to the placement and approval of construction projects. He assists clients throughout the entire life cycle of their projects, from the award of the public contract, to project implementation (including claim and change management), to successful handover and acceptance. He also provides comprehensive legal services related to the construction of roads, motorways and railways (applying FIDIC international standards). He has ample experience with residential development projects and representing clients in related judicial and administrative proceedings.
He regularly provides professional lectures focusing primarily on the contract for work and FIDIC terms and conditions, both for the general public and for the public sector and private clients (typically construction and project design companies). He also regularly publishes articles on these topics in legal periodicals, and participated in drafting commentaries to the new Civil Code.
Prior joining Havel & Partners he worked in a Prague-based boutique law firm specialising in construction law, infrastructure construction projects, developer projects, and litigation. He also worked as in-house lawyer in an international construction company where he attended to the legal agenda related to the construction of roads, motorways and railways.
